Hollywood’s biggest night is fast approaching and for the second year in a row, Disney+ is the exclusive home of the 97th Academy Awards in New Zealand.
The 2025 Oscars® will stream live on Monday, March 3 at 12:30pm NZDT, giving viewers access to every emotional speech, surprise win, and viral red carpet moment as they happen.
Leading this year’s nominations is “Emilia Pérez,” a Spanish-speaking French musical that has made history with 13 nods, the most ever for a non-English language film. Following closely are “The Brutalist” and “Wicked,” each securing 10 nominations. “The Brutalist,” directed by Brady Corbet, is an epic drama exploring the life of a Hungarian-Jewish architect, while “Wicked,” directed by Jon M. Chu, brings the beloved Broadway musical to the big screen.
Others in the lineup include “A Complete Unknown” and “Conclave,” each with eight nominations. “A Complete Unknown” tells the story of enigmatic Bob Dylan during his early career in the 1960s and “Conclave,” is a gripping Vatican thriller that explores the politics behind the selection of a new pope. These films are all vying for Oscars® glory alongside titles like “Anora,” “The Substance” and “Dune: Part Two.”
With Disney+ offering live coverage of the red carpet and awards ceremony, audiences will catch all the action, from the highly anticipated Best Picture race to the biggest snubs and standing ovations.
Streaming live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and hosted by former late night host and comedian Conan O’Brien, the Oscars® will celebrate the very best in film. This year, perhaps more than ever, the competition is fierce.
