Argentine author Mercedes Ron first penned “Culpa Mia” on Wattpad before her young adult series took off worldwide.
In 2025, her “Culpa Tuya” Prime Video film became the streamer’s biggest international original launch. The second film in the trilogy reached number one in 170 countries, including Canada, Spain, Argentina, Italy and more. The Spanish-language film also hit the top three in both the U.S. and the U.K
Prime Video followed the “Culpa” series’ success with the “Fault” series, an English adaptation starting with “My Fault: London” in 2025. With the sequel “Your Fault: London” slated for release on June 17, 2026, stars Asha Banks and Thomas Broome sat down with Variety to discuss the success of English-language adaptations.
“This book and film [series] is so popular, it’s just very cool that we were able to be the people that kind of brought it to London, and for an English-speaking audience,” Banks says.
“[It’s] so sick that Mercedes, this amazing author, had this huge success when she kind of was not expecting it at all as a young writer, she’s just absolutely blown up.”
Broome agrees, acknowledging the power that “House of Ron” has worldwide. Banks also adds that “good talent just seeps through”, and the success of the “Fault” films proves this.
The “Fault” series follows Banks’ character Noah and her forbidden relationship with stepsibling Nick, played by Broome.
The IP has created plenty of buzz, not only because of the source material, but also because of the taboo subject. “People kind of want to see what shouldn’t happen. It’s a tale as old as time,” Banks says.
“[The characters are] thinking everything that we all think, which is like, yeah we love watching it, or yeah, they love each other. But also, it’s like, should we be doing this?” Broome chimes in.
Following the success of “My Fault: London” in 2025, Prime Video commissioned both “Your Fault: London” and “Our Fault: London” the same year.
“Your Fault: London” will be available to stream on Prime Video on 17 June, 2026.
