“Only Murders in the Building” has added even more star power to its Season 6 cast.
Variety has confirmed that David Tennant (“Doctor Who,” Rivals,”) Nicola Coughlan (“Bridgerton,” “Derry Girls”), Jodie Whittaker (“Doctor Who,” “Broadchurch”), Jim Broadbent (“Moulin Rouge,” “Bridget Jones’ Diary”), Adrian Lukis (“The Crown,” “The War Between the Land and the Sea”), Richard Ayoade (“The IT Crowd,” “Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace”), and Kathryn Hunter (“The Tragedy of Macbeth,” “Poor Things”) in recurring guest star roles.
As is usually the case with the show, exact character details for the new additions are being kept under wraps.
Season 6 of the hit Hulu comedy is currently in production in the U.K. As previously reported, the new season will see leads Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez venture across the pond to continue their investigation into the death of Cinda Canning, as seen in the Season 5 finale.
The cast of Season 6 also includes returning star Michael Cyril Creighton as well as new recurring guest stars: Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Jamie Demetriou, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi, Lesley Nicol, Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, and Sharon Horgan. Da’Vine Joy Randolph has also been seen on set for Season 6, but whether or not she is returning to the show has yet to be officially confirmed.
“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Martin and John Hoffman. Hoffman and Martin are executive producers along with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, Jennifer Crittenden & Gabrielle Allan. 20th Television is the studio.
