Here’s your first look at Apple TV’s upcoming Australian thriller series “Last Seen,” led by Patrick Brammall.
Adapted from “The Dispatcher” by writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa, the six-part series, shot in Victoria, will premiere globally on September 9th with a two-episode launch, followed by weekly episodes through to October 7th.
The thriller centres on police detective Ian Ridley, played by Brammall, whose life was shattered after his daughter Maggie vanished 11 years earlier. Now working as a police dispatcher, Ridley becomes convinced a distress call from a teenage girl is actually from his missing daughter, setting off a desperate search that threatens to unravel everything around him.
Brammall, best known for “Colin from Accounts” and “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” leads a cast that also includes Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Jessica Wren, Zahra Newman and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
The series is directed and executive produced by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow, whose previous credits include “The Crown” and “Munich: The Edge of War.” Production comes from 60Forty Films and Werner Film Productions, with executive producers Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Schwochow, Mrksa and Joanna Werner attached.
“Last Seen” joins Apple TV’s growing roster of prestige thriller series, alongside “Hijack” starring Idris Elba, “Slow Horses” led by Gary Oldman, and the recently renewed “Down Cemetery Road” featuring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.
