Just over a month after its third season premiered, Netflix has confirmed that “Love on the Spectrum” will return for season four.
Created, produced and directed by award-winning Australian production company, Northern Pictures, the Emmy Award-winning reality show’s third season ranked in Netflix’s Global Top 10 for two weeks.
“We’re thrilled to be making a new season of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ for Netflix and the global audience. It’s a joy to continue this journey, welcoming back some familiar faces and introducing audiences to more wonderful people,” Karina Holden, Head of Factual for Northern Pictures and ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Executive Producer and co-creator, said.
“The show has done an enormous amount of good around the world — creating greater visibility for neurodiverse experiences, breaking down stereotypes and fostering empathy.”
Cian O’Clery, director, showrunner and co-creator of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ added: “We have seen firsthand how being part of the show has enriched lives: forging friendships, building confidence, opening new opportunities, and connecting with viewers from all walks of life.
“Each season is a chance to broaden understanding of the diversity within the autism spectrum.”
The new season will also be the first for Northern Pictures’ new Managing Director, Matt Vitins, who took on the role last month following the departure of Peter Anderson.
“We look forward to sharing yet another season of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ with the world,” Vitins said this week.
Having most recently served as chief operating officer at Matchbox Pictures and Tony Ayres Productions (TAP), Vitins has delivered critically and commercially successful projects on multiple platforms including Netflix, Stan, Amazon, Peacock and the ABC.
He also had executive producer credits for titles like “Stateless” (ABC), “Creamerie” (TVNZ) and “The Survivors” (forthcoming, Netflix).
“Northern Pictures has built an exceptional back-catalogue and forward slate of world-class television projects,” Vitins said following the news of his appointment in March.
“I’m honoured to join the company.”
