Irish podcaster and cultural commentator Blindboy Boatclub is heading back to Australia and New Zealand in 2027, bringing his acclaimed live podcast experience to major theatres across both countries following a sold-out run last year.
The creator behind the hugely successful “The Blindboy Podcast” will kick off the tour at Auckland Town Hall on April 9th before heading to Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on April 11th, Brisbane’s Powerhouse on April 14th, Perth’s Astor Theatre on April 17th, and wrapping up with a Sydney Opera House show on April 22nd.
Tickets for all shows go on sale today (June 3rd) at 12pm (local) here.
Described by The New York Times as a “cultural phenomenon,” Blindboy’s podcast has built a devoted global audience by blending storytelling, history, politics, psychology, music and cultural critique into what the Irish creative has famously dubbed “the podcast hug.”
Across more than 60 million listens worldwide, Blindboy has carved out a distinctive space in the podcast landscape, using humour and curiosity to unpack topics often perceived as inaccessible or overly academic. His live shows expand on that format, combining spoken-word storytelling, audience engagement and theatrical performance in an intimate setting.
The 2027 shows will also feature readings from Blindboy’s published works, alongside surprise guest appearances at each stop. Previous guests at his live podcast recordings have included Spike Lee, Hozier, Graham Norton, Paddy Considine and Charlotte Church.
Blindboy first rose to prominence as part of Irish satirical hip-hop group The Rubberbandits before evolving into one of Ireland’s most influential podcast voices. In recent years, he has become particularly known for his commentary on mental health, politics and contemporary culture.

Earlier this year, he won the Grierson Award for Best Presenter for his documentary “The Land of Slaves and Scholars,” which he also scored and produced. The win marked the first time in two decades that an RTÉ documentary had taken home the prestigious honour.
