Independent Film Company has acquired the North American rights to “100 Nights of Hero,” an ensemble fairy tale romance that stars Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Maika Monroe, Amir El-Masry, Charli XCX, Richard E. Grant and Felicity Jones.
Julia Jackman wrote and directed the adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s bestselling graphic novel, “The One Hundred Nights of Hero.”
“With ‘100 Nights of Hero,’ Julia Jackman has crafted a lush and defiant fairy tale that pulses with wit, romance and danger,” said Scott Shooman, head of IFC Entertainment Group . “Boasting a remarkable cast and a rebellious sparkle, the film is exactly the kind of daring filmmaking that we champion. We can’t wait to share it on the big screen.”
The film will receive a wide theatrical release later this year. “100 Nights of Hero” follows a woman named Cherry (Monroe), whose neglectful husband departs after placing a secret wager to test her fidelity. Along with her sharp-witted maid, Hero (Corrin), Cherry must fend off a dangerously seductive visitor: Manfred (Galitzine).
“Making this film has been a longtime dream, ever since I first picked up Isabel Greenberg’s gorgeous graphic novel years ago,” said Jackman. “It’s been a joy to shape its world and characters into something new, and I’m thrilled it found a home at Independent Film Company. I cannot wait to share it with a broader audience — led by the extraordinary talents of our brilliant ensemble cast.”
Producers Stephanie Aspin, Helen Simmons, and Grant S. Johnson commented, “Independent Film Company is truly an exciting partner. Their recent work, from ‘Corsage’ to ‘Late Night With the Devil,’ shows how much support they put behind independent movies in a day and age when that is increasingly rare. Scott Shooman’s vision for ‘100 Nights of Hero’ positions this film to flourish, and we couldn’t be happier to partner with them.”
Corrin recently starred in “The Crown,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and “Nosferatu.” Galitzine has headlined “Red, White & Royal Blue,” “The Idea of You” and the upcoming, “Masters of the Universe.” Monroe is best known for “Longlegs and “It Follows.” El-Masry’s credits include “Limbo” and “Club Zero.” Charli XCX is fresh off the monster success of her 2004 album, “Brat.” Grant is an Oscar nominee for “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” And Jones has Academy Award nominations for her performances in “The Theory of Everything” and “The Brutalist.”
Aspin and Simmons produced ‘100 Nights of Hero’ for Erebus Pictures and Johnson produced the film for Project Infinity.
The deal was negotiated by Shooman and Rachael Labes for Independent Film Company. WME Independent, CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group represented the filmmakers. WME Independent is handling international sales.
