Foxtel Director to Take on New Role with ARIA and PPCA

Nick Esmore

A Foxtel director has announced he is taking on a new role with the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) and the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

It’s been confirmed that Nick Esmore will take on the newly-created position of Finance Director and move across from Foxtel where he worked as Finance Director for Sports Streaming and Advertising, overseeing platforms such as Kayo and BINGE.

Prior to his six year stint at Foxtel, Esmore has held a number of senior finance roles in Australia and globally at companies including J.P. Morgan, Colgate-Palmolive, and Commonwealth Bank.

At ARIA and PPCA, Esmore will be responsible for the organisations’ finance, PPCA Distribution, business technology, ARIA Charts, and HR portfolios.

The Finance Director position was made after Chief Operating Officer Lynne Small announced in March that she would be stepping down after nearly 30 years of service.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky to have spent the majority of my career with organisations that support and champion Australian music,” Lynne said at the time.

“The friendships, challenges, and achievements over the past 28 years have been incredibly rewarding, and I am so grateful to have worked alongside such passionate and talented people, both inside and beyond ARIA and PPCA.”

Following that decision, Rohini Sivakumar was promoted to General Counsel & Company Secretary while Julia Robinson has also been promoted to Head of Government Relations and Programs.

“Nick brings exactly the kind of commercial insight, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership we need as we move forward,” ARIA and PPCA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said.

“He has a strong passion for music and will be a great addition to the team and the industry.”

“With Lynne’s extraordinary legacy and incredibly generous support in the handover, we’re in a strong position for this next chapter.”

Esmore added: “I’m really excited to join ARIA and PPCA given the important role they play in supporting Australian music. It’s an incredible opportunity to bring my experience into an industry that’s as dynamic and creative as music, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its continued growth and success.”

Esmore will start with ARIA and PPCA on Monday, May 5th.
