Adding to a cast led by returning stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, Australian actor Patrick Brammall has joined the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.”
The “Glitch” and “Offspring” alum is set to play a new love interest for Hathaway’s journalist character Andy Sachs, who was hired as a junior assistant to Streep’s Runway magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley in the 2006 hit.
Brammall’s key role in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is his first big-screen part since 2018 action-horror film “Overlord,” with the AACTA and Logie-winner filling his resume with small-screen projects of late, including 2024 Gotham TV Awards Breakthrough Comedy Series “Colin From Accounts.” The popular Australian rom-com sitcom, which Brammall co-created, co-stars in and co-writes alongside Harriet Dyer, was renewed for a third season earlier in 2025.
Brammall’s recent filmograph also includes both the Australian original and US version of “No Activity,” voicework on animated hit “Bluey” and a recurring role in American supernatural drama “Evil.” Apple TV+’s upcoming “The Dispatcher,” as based on Ryan David Jahn’s novel, is on his slate as well.
In the initial “The Devil Wears Prada,” Adrian Grenier portrayed Andy’s romantic interest, but the “Entourage” star is not returning for the title’s two-decades-later sequel.
Alongside Brammall, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s” Rachel Bloom is another new addition to a cast that already spans Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet, plus Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora and Caleb Hearon. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman are among the actors returning from the initial film.
Shooting on “The Devil Wears Prada 2” began in early July 2025, with David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna also back for the sequel as director and writer, respectively. Hathaway shared an image of her return as Andy to social media earlier this week.
The film is due to release in Australia and New Zealand on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Deadline first broke the news of Brammall’s casting, while Entertainment Weekly first reported that his character is Andy’s new love interest.
