Polly Rowe is the new development producer at Goalpost Pictures Australia.

Since 2007, Rowe has been literary manager at the Sydney Theatre Company (STC), developing works with major writers and identifying important new stories from emerging talent.

At the STC, she commissioned critical and commercial hits including “Black is the New White” by Nakkiah Lui, “Switzerland” by Joanna Murray-Smith and “The Harp in the South”, adapted by Kate Mulvaney from Ruth Park’s novel.

At Goalpost Pictures she will work with writers to bring their stories to the screen.

Goalpost Pictures is currently producing “Five Blind Dates” with Amazon Studios for Prime Video – a rom-com film starring Shuang Hu, who also co-wrote the project. It is also in pre-production on “Black Snow” for Stan.

Partners at the company, Rosemary Blight and Kylie du Fresne, said there was lots to be done.

“Polly has an exceptional eye for identifying and developing writers and scripts, strong relationships across the creative industries and she has a superb track record for success,” they said.

“We are thrilled to have her join Goalpost Pictures at what is an incredibly busy time for the company as we build our slate of television and film projects for Australian and international audiences.”

Rowe added: “It is an honour to be joining Goalpost Pictures, a company with impressive credits and a big cultural footprint. I look forward to joining the team and working with the wonderful writers on their slate, bringing exciting new stories to the screen.”
