Pedro Vitola will be the executive producer of “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” next year, replacing Sonia Jahshan.
Vitola has been with the Kiis 1065 radio show since 2016 when he won the listener contest “World’s Best Job”. In 2020, he was then promote to senior producer.
He will begin his elevated role when the show returns from its end-of-year break in January 2023.
Tony Aldridge, Kiis 1065’s content director, said: “This is such a well-deserved promotion for Pedro, who over the past six years has grown and developed into the incredible producer he is today. Pedro has been an integral part of the success of the show, and his promotion to EP will ensure a seamless transition for the team into 2023.”
On-air this morning, co-host of the show Kyle Sandilands labelled Vitola a “powerhouse”.
Vitola said: “I am beyond excited to be taking on the role of executive producer on “The Kyle and Jackie O Show”. I look forward to working closely with Kyle, Jackie and the team to achieve great things beyond 2023.”
In the most recent radio ratings, the show became Sydney’s No.1 breakfast show, even overtaking Ben Fordham on 2GB in terms of audience share.
Sandilands and Henderson were also recently inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).
The show also took home Best On-Air Team (Metro FM) and Best Networked Program (Metro). Sandilands was also awarded Best Entertainment Presenter (Metro) and his “Get Vaxxed Baby” campaign alongside ARN’s Derek Bargwanna, Matthew Petherick, Sam Vallins and Kian Oliver won Best Multimedia Execution – Station (Metro), while the “Kyle and Jackie O’s Set You Up For Life” initiative won Best Station Promotion (Metro).
Henderson is currently on extended leave, revealing she has struggled to stay well since contracting COVID-19 earlier this year. “Life Uncut” co-host Brittany Hockley has been filling in in her absence.
