Carrie Bickmore is back on Australian television screens this week, having announced her return from the UK.

Bickmore and her partner, television showrunner Chris Walker, announced earlier this year they were taking their family to live in the UK for a few months.

For Bickmore, this meant a break from her TV duties on Network 10’s “The Project”, however she maintained her appearances on her drive-time radio show “Carrie and Tommy” on SCA’s Hit Network with comedian Tommy Little.

“In April, I’m going to be taking a few months off “The Project” desk,” she told the program earlier this year. “Chris and I and the kids are heading off on a family adventure together. We’ve been wanting to do it for a while, but lots of reason, timing hasn’t been right, but we figure it’s never going to be a perfect time to go and it’s something we really want to do before my son, Olly, starts his final years at school, so we’re going to do Term 2 in the UK.”

Bickmore has now returned, however, revealing she’s glad she gave the adventure a crack.

The 7pm segment of last night’s episode of “The Project” had an overnight metro audience of 428,000, and was most popular in Melbourne with 155,000. Nationally, it had an average of 577,000 viewers.
