Australian actor Patrick Brammall stepped out on the red carpet on Tuesday night (April 28th) to celebrate the upcoming release of “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” the long-awaited follow-up to one of the most iconic fashion films of the 2000s.
Best known locally for series including “Colin from Accounts” and “Evil,” Brammall joins an all-star cast in the sequel alongside Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. His role in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is his first big-screen part since the 2018 action-horror film “Overlord.”
He attended the Sydney premiere at the State Theatre with his wife and frequent collaborator Harriet Dyer, alongside a host of Australian entertainment figures, media personalities and invited guests as excitement builds around the highly anticipated release.
The sequel reunites audiences with the sharply dressed and notoriously demanding world of Runway Magazine, nearly two decades after the original film became a defining pop culture touchstone. Released in 2006, “The Devil Wears Prada” is celebrated for its biting humour, fashion-world satire and endlessly quotable performances – particularly Streep’s Oscar-nominated turn as editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly.
Twenty years on, the core cast returns to the sleek offices and fashionable streets of New York City, with Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci reprising their beloved roles as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel.
The film is directed by David Frankel, who also helmed the original movie, while screenplay writer Aline Brosh McKenna returned to pen the sequel. Producer Wendy Finerman is also back, alongside executive producers Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and Brosh McKenna.
