Australian comedian Jim Jefferies is returning to Melbourne in January 2027 for an exclusive performance of his “Son of a Carpenter” stand-up show.
Jefferies will bring “Son of a Carpenter: Resurrected” to Crown Melbourne’s new entertainment venue Crown LIVE on Friday, January 15th, marking a one-night-only return following his extensive Australian tour earlier this year.
The original “Son of a Carpenter” tour marked Jefferies’ biggest-ever run of Australian performances, with the comedian tackling subjects including family life, social issues and the absurdities of modern society. The tour spanned 26 shows across July and August, with Australian comedians Mel Buttle, Mickey D, Chris Wainhouse, Corey White and Lindsay Webb among the support acts.
Tickets go on sale at 11am (local) on Wednesday, October 28th. See here for details.
Known for his provocative humour and outspoken social commentary, Jefferies has established an international career spanning stand-up, television and streaming specials. His credits include Comedy Central’s “The Jim Jefferies Show,” which ran for three seasons from 2017 to 2019, as well as several Netflix stand-up specials, including “Freedumb,” “This Is Me Now,” “Intolerant” and “High n’ Dry.”
Ahead of his Australian tour, Jefferies appeared on the “Rolling Stone Uncut” podcast, where he discussed his career, life in the US and the challenges of maintaining success in stand-up comedy.
Reflecting on his career longevity, Jefferies acknowledged that performing to large audiences would not last forever. “I’m not going to be selling out these big venues in Australia in my eighties. Hopefully, we can play this footage back when I am selling these stadiums out in my eighties!”
