Anaconda” has slithered its way to a box office milestone.

The Sony adventure comedy, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, has crossed $100 million at the worldwide box office. As of Friday, the film’s global gross stands at $101.6 million, with $50.4 million domestically and $51.2 million internationally.

“Anaconda” earned $1.2 million on Friday from 3,075 locations and is expected to reach $4.6 million in its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to $53.7 million through Sunday. The film was released on Christmas Day last year.

“Anaconda” is a reimagining of the classic 1997 snake horror movie that starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz and Jonathan Hyde. In this “not-a-reboot” film, Black and Rudd play Doug and Griff, two best friends who have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie. “When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation,” an official synopsis reads.

Tom Gormican, who helmed “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” and penned “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” directed the new “Anaconda” movie from a script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten. In addition to Black and Rudd, the adventure comedy film stars Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior and Selton Mello. Producers include Brad Fuller and Andrew Form under their Fully Formed Entertainment production banner, as well as Etten and Gormican.
