Noah Wyle has won the Emmy Award for best actor in a drama series for “The Pitt.”
He beat out fellow nominees Sterling K. Brown (“Paradise), Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses”), Pedro Pascal (“The Last of Us”), and Adam Scott (“Severance”) to win in the category.
This was Wyle’s sixth acting Emmy nomination and seventh overall, as he also shares in “The Pitt’s” nomination for best drama series. This is also his first win. He was nominated five years in a row for best supporting actor in a drama for his role as Dr. John Carter in the hit medical drama “ER.”
“First of all, to my fellow nominees, just having my name included in your company is the honor of a lifetime,” Wyle said in his acceptance speech. “Thank you to everybody at HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television for allowing the conditions to exist for lightning to strike in my life twice. John Wells, thank you for being that lightning.”
“And most of all, if anybody is going on shift tonight or coming off shift tonight, thank you for being in that job. This is for you,” he concluded.
“The Pitt” debuted on HBO Max in January to critical and popular acclaim. The show was renewed for a second season in February, with the new season slated to bow in January 2026. In addition to nods for Wyle and best drama series, the show received 13 Emmy nominations in total this year. At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards the weekend prior to Sunday’s Primetime Emmys, “The Pitt” picked up wins for best guest actor in a drama series (Shawn Hatosy) and best casting for a drama series (Cathy Sandrich Gelfond and Erica Berger).
