Legendary The Wiggles member Greg Page has been announced to join the cast of the upcoming Australian production of Broadway musical, Annie.
The original Yellow Wiggle has this week been confirmed to play the role of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the show which will kick off at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney on March 25th, before it heads to Melbourne’s Princess Theatre from July.
Page joins a huge cast that already boasts the likes of Anthony Warlow as Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks and Debora Krizak as Miss Hannigan.
Mackenzie Dunn will play Lily St. Regis, Keanu Gonzalez will step into the role of “Rooster” Hannigan, while Amanda Lea LaVergne plays Grace Farrell. Four young performers who will share the titular role of Annie – Beatrix Alder, Matilda Casey, Dakota Chanel and Stephanie McNamara.

“Audiences of all ages know Greg as the Yellow Wiggle and I’m sure will be keen to see him alongside our cast of outstanding performers led by Anthony, Deb, Mackenzie, Keanu and Amanda. This is going to be a brilliant production of Annie for a whole new generation.

Based on the Harold Gray comic strip “Little Orphan Annie” which debuted in 1924 and ran for over 80 years, before the musical opened on Broadway in 1977.
The musical won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book (Thomas Meehan) and Best Score (Charles Strouse, Martin Charnin), the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, seven Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and the Grammy for Best Cast Show Album. After the Broadway run of almost six years, it has played in more than 22 countries worldwide including the UK, Argentina, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Spain and Australia.
