The series “Elle” has hit No. 1 on the global Prime Video charts. The “Legally Blonde” prequel was already greenlit for a second season before the first was released – and it looks like Prime Video’s gamble has paid off.
Season 2 filming wrapped up two weeks ago, and Lexi Minetree told Variety it’s going to be a ride.
“Dare I say, I think Season 2 might even be better than Season 1, because it’s just so fun,” the actor said. “I would say all the episodes are very similar to… Episode 6, ‘The Breakfast Club’ episode [because[ we get to do more group scenes and everything, so it’s really fun [as] all the dynamics are crisscrossing.”
The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, so when we asked Minetree if there could be a fun cameo in the future in the form of a flash-forward or ghost storyline, she got excited.
“Like a ‘That’s So Raven’ moment? They go into my eye!” she laughed. “I never say never, I guess the world is our oyster, we’ll see. [Witherspoon] could be like my little angel on my shoulder or something.”
Minetree was handpicked by Witherspoon for the role of Elle, so it would be a blast to see the younger and older versions on screen together.
During Season 1, there was one moment where Minetree felt like she had become Elle Woods.

“The Sweet 16 dress was amazing,” she recalled. “I remember when we put it on, it was the first time I really felt fully Elle, and it really hit me. It was a beautiful LA day, and I [had] this really beautiful pink dress on, and these high heels.”
“It was really special.”
“Elle” Season 1 is now streaming on Prime Video.
