The sixth GfK radio ratings survey of 2026 saw 2UE post Sydney’s biggest share gain, Nova breakfast climbed and 2GB held the lead despite losing ground this survey. Meanwhile in Melbourne, 3AW remains at the top.
The survey period was Sunday, July 12th to Saturday, September 19th.
smoothfm 95.3 is still sitting pretty at the top of Sydney radio, holding the No.1 spot in GfK’s sixth survey of 2026 despite slipping 0.3 percentage points to 13.2%.
But 2UE 954 had the most to smile about in share gains, climbing a full percentage point to 4.6%, the biggest jump in the market.
2GB kept second place with 10.8%, down 0.4 points. Breakfast took a bigger knock, falling 0.9 points to 13.9%, though that was still enough to keep the station ahead of the morning pack.
Nova 96.9 also had a good book. It added 0.6 points to reach 8.1% and retain third place, while Breakfast climbed 0.8 points to 9.9%, the strongest breakfast gain in Sydney.

Overall, Sydney’s total radio cume edged down by 9,000 to 4,690,000 across the survey period, which ran from 12 July to 19 September.
3AW remains at the top of Melbourne radio, although GfK Radio 360 Survey 6, 2026 took a little shine off its lead. The station slipped 0.7 percentage points to 13.4%, while breakfast dropped 1.2 points to 18.3%, still comfortably ahead of the morning competition.
Behind it, the race for second is getting tight. GOLD 104.3 shed 0.9 points to finish at 10.5%, leaving smoothfm at 91.5, just 0.1 points behind after edging up to 10.4%.
105.1 Triple M had the biggest reason to celebrate, recording Melbourne’s strongest station share gain. It climbed 1.2 points to 7.3%, while breakfast added 1.1 points to reach 6.5%.
Nova 100 had a tougher book, losing 0.8 points to land on 7.9% and shedding 131,000 weekly listeners. It still holds Melbourne’s biggest weekly audience, though, with 1,178,000 listeners.
4BH 1116 has climbed to the top of Brisbane radio, adding 1.4 percentage points to reach 12.3% in GfK Radio 360 Survey 6, 2026. That’s the market’s biggest share gain, and enough to put it clear of the pack.
104.5 Triple M also had a good book, rising 0.4 points to 11.3% and taking second place. Breakfast delivered an even bigger lift, jumping 1.9 points to 13.6% to lead the morning timeslot.
B105 had less to celebrate. Its station share fell 1.4 points to 10.6%, the biggest drop in Brisbane, while breakfast slipped 1.7 points to 12.5%. It still has the market’s largest weekly audience, though, with 634,000 listeners.
KIIS 97.3 eased 0.4 points to 9.0%, while Nova 106.9 dropped 0.7 points to 8.6%. Further down the dial, ABC Classic added 0.5 points to reach 2.4%.
Triple M is still on top of Adelaide radio, and its lead has grown even with a small dip of its own.
The station eased 0.3 percentage points to 14.0% in GfK Radio 360 Survey 6, 2026. But with nearest rival Nova 91.9 falling 1.2 points to 10.8%, the gap between them widened from 2.3 to 3.2 points.
KIIS 102.3 had the biggest reason to smile, posting Adelaide’s strongest station share gain. It added 0.5 points to reach 9.6%, nudging past SAFM, which slipped 0.3 points to 9.5%, into third place.
FIVEaa had a tougher book. Its overall share fell 1.1 points to 8.7%, while breakfast dropped 2.3 points to 11.3%, the biggest breakfast fall in the market.
Triple M also kept the breakfast crown with 14.3%, down 0.9 points. Nova’s mornings told a brighter story than its overall result: breakfast climbed 0.8 points to 12.2%, passing FIVEaa to take second place.
ABC Adelaide made ground in the morning, too, adding 1.2 points to reach 10.8%.
Nova 93.7 has widened the gap with the Perth radio pack, climbing 0.7 percentage points to 18.3% in GfK Radio 360 Survey 6, 2026.
But 92.9 Triple M had the biggest reason to celebrate a share gain. It jumped 1.2 points to 11.0%, the strongest rise in the market, bringing it within striking distance of second place.
Mix 94.5 took that spot despite slipping 0.3 points to 11.5%. GOLD 96FM’s one-point fall to 11.3% opened the door, leaving just 0.5 points separating second, third and fourth.
Nova also kept a comfortable grip on breakfast, rising 0.8 points to 18.3%. Triple M followed on 12.2%, also up 0.8 points, while 6PR added a full point to reach 11.4%.
ABC Perth had a tougher book, recording the market’s biggest falls both overall and at breakfast. Its station share dropped 1.3 points to 3.7%, while breakfast fell 1.8 points to 4.5%.
