AACTA Festival will return to the Gold Coast from February 3-7, 2027, with a five-day program at Home of the Arts (HOTA) spanning awards ceremonies, industry sessions, screenings, masterclasses and the Screen Careers Expo.

The event has grown over the past three years to over 100 events and 350 speakers, drawing tens of thousands of attendees.

Previous guests have included Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Snook, Dacre Montgomery and Baz Luhrmann, alongside international names including Henry Cavill, Ron Howard, Brian Cox and Robbie Williams.

The 2027 edition will open Wednesday, February 3rd with the AACTA Awards Industry Gala and Official After Party, presented by Screen Queensland. AACTA Festival Industry Day follows on February 4th, before the AACTA Awards Ceremony, presented by BINGE, on Friday, February 5th.

Festival programming will continue across the weekend, with the AACTA Screen Careers Expo returning Saturday, February 6th.

“We’re incredibly proud of how the AACTA Awards and Festival have grown on the Gold Coast over the past three years. There is nothing else quite like it on the Australian screen calendar,” AACTA Chair Jack Christian said.

“It is a week that celebrates achievement, creates opportunity and puts Australian screen talent firmly in the spotlight. In 2027, we’re taking another step forward with an even more ambitious five days of celebration, conversation and connection, showcasing the very best of Australian screen and bringing our industry together.”

AACTA’s return to the Gold Coast was another vote of confidence in Queensland as Australia’s event capital, Minister for Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said.

“Major events like AACTA attract visitors, support local jobs and showcase the very best of our state,” he said.

“Through Destination 2045, we’re growing a world-class events calendar that keeps Queensland the home of the holiday and a destination people want to visit time and again.”

Expressions of interest are open for event ideas, speakers, moderators, volunteers, sponsors and partners. Further announcements, including headline speakers, program highlights and ticketing information, are expected in the coming months.
