Oz Comic-Con has announced its first lineup of international guests for its upcoming Brisbane and Sydney shows, set to be one of its biggest yet.
The initial lineup includes guests for Brisbane (September 13–14) and Sydney (September 20–21), featuring Alex Brightman. Brightman voices demon clown Fizzarolli in “Helluva Boss”, a viral animated series which has amassed millions of views on YouTube and cultivated a passionate online fandom since its 2020 launch.
He is also known for his performances in Broadway’s “School of Rock” and “Beetlejuice”, both of which earned him Tony Award nominations and a cult following.
Brightman will be joined by a trio of “Supernatural” alums: Katie Cassidy, DJ Qualls and Ty Olsson. Cassidy is best known for playing Laurel Lance (Black Canary) in “Arrow”, while Qualls appeared in “The Man in the High Castle” and “Z Nation”, and Olsson starred in “The 100”. All three have earned lasting fan acclaim for their “Supernatural” roles – Ruby, Garth and Benny, respectively – thanks to the series’ ongoing cult status.
Veteran voice actor Tara Sands will also attend, having voiced more than 60 characters in iconic anime series including “Pokémon,” “One Piece” and “Hunter x Hunter.” Sands has also lent her voice to projects across TV, film, audiobooks, and video games.
More guest stars are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Both events will include the Main Stage for Q&A panels with film and television guests, and mark the return of the Oz Comic-Con Championships of Cosplay, which offers a $1,500 cash prize.
Also featured is Artist Alley, with comic creators, illustrators, workshops, panels, retail vendors and the Dr Pickles Tattoo Alley. The tattoo alley allows attendees to put their arm in a hole to get a random tattoo from an artist.
Fans can also participate in tabletop gaming sessions, meet-and-greets, themed photo ops, and merchandise hunts throughout the show floor across both cities.
