The 2025 AACTA Awards are shaping up to be one of the most star-studded nights in Australian entertainment history, with Russell Crowe stepping in as host and iconic performances by Paul Kelly and Robbie Williams on the agenda.

The ceremony will take place at HOTA, Home of the Arts, on the Gold Coast on February 7th, celebrating the best in Australian film, television, and music.

Crowe will also have the honour of presenting the inaugural AACTA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in Screen to Australian music legend Paul Kelly. A staple of the nation’s cultural soundtrack, Kelly has lent his music to films such as Young Einstein and Lantana and scored last year’s adaptation of his hit song ‘How to Make Gravy’. Kelly is set to perform the iconic track during the ceremony.

From one musical powerhouse to another, British icon Robbie Williams will take to the stage to perform his timeless anthem ‘Angels’. Williams’ biopic Better Man leads this year’s AACTA nominations with a record-breaking 16 nods, and the singer couldn’t be more thrilled.

“I’m incredibly honoured to be attending and performing at the AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast next month. The Better Man movie is something I’m extremely proud of. For this movie to be embraced by the AACTA membership, with a record-breaking 16 AACTA Award nominations, is a very special moment for me. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone down under soon—it’s going to be an unforgettable night!”

Adding even more star power, the night will feature an impressive lineup of presenters, including Henry Cavill, Kitty Flanagan, Guy Pearce, Sophie Monk, Asher Keddie, and Sam Pang. The awards will be broadcast live on Channel Ten at 7:30 pm AEDT on February 7th, with an extended version available on BINGE and Foxtel the following evening.

The AACTA Festival, running February 5th–9th, will complement the awards with a series of masterclasses, panels, and performances. Festival highlights include a behind-the-scenes look at Robbie Williams’ Better Man with director Michael Gracey and a celebration of Paul Kelly’s How to Make Gravy featuring Meg Washington and Brendan Maclean.

For budding creatives, the expanded Screen Careers Expo will also make its return.
