‘The Masked Singer Australia’ Bows Out With 955,000 Viewers

“The Masked Singer Australia” wrapped up last night, with 955,000 viewers across the country tuning in for the ‘Final Reveal’.

The earlier Grand Finale segment of the episode had 783,000.

Network 10 said the show provided the broadcaster its biggest BVOD (broadcast video on demand) and live stream audiences ever.It said 18,000 people were live-streaming the episode on 10 Play, up 20% year-on-year, while 67,000 people have already used the service to ‘catch-up’ on the episode, a climb of 24% year-on-year.

In total across the series, over 39 million minutes were viewed on 10 Play, up 3% from 2021.

Daniel Monaghan, senior VP of content and programming at 10’s parent company Paramount ANZ, said: “This year, ‘The Masked Singer Australia’ delivered on star power and family fun entertainment. Incredible performance, amazing masks and jaw-dropping reveals were a winning combination across all platforms and with all ages, achieving its biggest BVOD audience ever.

“I would like to thank our creative and imaginative crew, our partners at Warner Bros., the team at Network 10, the masks, and Osher, Mel B, Dave, Abbie and Chrissie.

“Thank you also to our viewers. Their enthusiasm and passion for the show is unwavering. And congratulations to Melody for being crowned the 2022 winner.”

Season 4 of the show was taken out by former Pussycat Dolls performer Melody Thornton, who beat actor and performer Hugh Sheridan and singer Sheldon Riley.

Thornton said: “It was just so nice to have lovely comments, and encouragement as well, to bring this character to life. This really helped my relationship with myself. It brought me closer to myself. [Ultimately], you sing because you want other people to be inspired to sing.”

In other TV viewing last night, “The Block” had a total audience of 1.485 million across Channel 9, its affiliates and digital viewing – 981,000 in the metro markets, 365,000 in the regions and 139,000 online.

“MKR” on Channel 7 had a TV audience of 687,000 and an online audience of 47,000, taking its total to 734,000.

The Seven Network said “MKR” is up 57% in BVOD on the same episode last season, and up 100% when it comes to live streaming.
