“The Handmaid’s Tale” will be available to Australian audiences on SBS and SBS On Demand from Thursday, Sep. 15.
The dystopian drama is premiering in the U.S. on Hulu on Sep. 14.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” is produced by MGM Television and executive produced by Bruce Miller, Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, Eric Tuchman, Yahlin Chang, Rachel Skukert, Sheila Hockin, John Webber, Frank Siracusa, Steve Stark and Kim Todd.
The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Bradley Whitford, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Ann Dowd, Sam Jaeger.
SBS also released a teaser for Season 5, which will show June facing consequences for killing Commander Waterford and struggling to redefine her identity and purpose.
In addition, the widowed Serena will attempt to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada, and Commander Lawrence works with Nick and Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power.
“June, Luke and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah,” SBS added of Season 5.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” is premiered in 2017, based off the 1985 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood. Its first season won eight Primetime Emmy Awards from 13 nominations.
