“Kitchen Nightmares Australia” is ‘coming soon’ to Channel 7 and 7Plus, with the broadcaster offering up a first look at the show.
The format is based on “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares”, featuring celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, which first went to air in 2004. It was the adapted into an American version in 2007.
The Australian version won’t feature Ramsay, but will instead be fronted by Colin Fassnidge.
Fassnidge is currently starring alongside Manu Feidel and Nigella Lawson on Seven’s “MKR“. He’s also previously appeared on Network 10’s “MasterChef Australia” and placed 5th on Season 7 of “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” in 2021.
Despite not being as intense and controversial as Ramsay, Seven said Fassnidge was outspoken and would lift the lid on local restaurants flirting with failure.
“Going behind the kitchen doors of a different establishment each week, Colin uses his 28 years of restaurant experience to provide honest feedback and practical insights to real-life business owners whose livelihoods are on the line,” publicity for the show said.
“Tensions flare and conflicts arise as Colin exposes where the kitchens go wrong, before arming the owners and staff with the secrets to running a profitable restaurant.
“Can Colin’s tough love turn these restaurant owners’ kitchen nightmares into a dream?”
“Kitchen Nightmares Australia” is produced by Eureka Productions, based on the global format distributed by All3Media International.
The Seven Network has not yet revealed the air date for the new series, only saying Fassnidge will be serving up some ‘tough love’ ‘soon’.
