“Hunted” will be back for a second season on Channel 10 and 10 Play.

The competitive format was Channel 10’s strongest launch since 2019.

It launched to 859,000 overnight viewers, 619,000 of whom were from the five metro cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The finale had 859,000 national viewers, 549,000 from the metro cities. On the same night, the ‘Extraction’ episode had 941,000 nationally (602,000 metro).

Off the back of the success, Network 10 has already announced Season 2 of the “real-life game of cat and mouse”.

Daniel Monaghan, senior VP of content and programming for Network 10’s parent company Paramount Australia and New Zealand, said the network is thrilled that Australian audiences have been captivated by the gripping reality on “Hunted”.

“With the undeniable success of the first season, we can’t wait to bring Australians more action, investigation, strategy and epic captures in Season 2,” he said.

Casting is already underway for the show. Filming will take place in Melbourne, with casting details noting “having a strong connection and/ or family living in/ around [the city] will be beneficial for fugitives on the run”.

It encouraged people who are keen to be part of a thrilling, life-changing adventure to apply.

“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go on the run from the authorities? What would you do? Who would you trust? In a high-tech world where everything you do is tracked and recorded, could you just vanish without a trace?

“In “Hunted”, the heart-pounding game of cat and mouse, the goal is simple: outsmart a team of expert trackers to avoid detection and you could win a huge cash prize.”
