Everything Coming to Netflix in June 2022

Spiderhead Netflix

After a significant month with returning favourites such as “Stranger Things” in May, Netflix isn’t resting on its laurels in June.

Headlining next month is “Spiderhead”, which arrives on the streaming platform on June 17th. The science fiction thriller film is based on a New Yorker story by acclaimed writer George Saunders, following a scientist who performs experiments on inmates in exchange for commuted sentences.

There’s a strong Australian connection, with “Spiderhead” filming throughout Queensland and Chris Hemsworth leading the cast. The rest of the cast is curious too, with the maligned Miles Teller continuing his return to form (he’s also starring in “Top Gun: Maverick”) and Jurnee Smollett, set to appear as Black Canary in the upcoming “Batgirl”.

On June 15th, another Australian production heads to Netflix with the comedy series “God’s Favourite Idiot”. It sees the excellent Melissa McCarthy once again reunite with her husband and series creator Ben Falcone, and there could be a lot riding on this one: their partnership has previously bore films like “Thunder Force” and “Superintelligence”, which have massively wasted McCarthy’s superlative comic talent.
