Linktree has launched a new set of NFT features for creators.
Linktree currently offers link-in-bio capabilities for creators to streamline their digital offerings to fans and consumers, and monetise their following.
Now, it will also enable those keen to tap into the Web3 space to showcase NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and build communities around ownership.
Linktree conceded Web3 remains in a “nascent stage”, but said it already offers creators tremendous power through new models of patronage, future investment and ownership.
It will offer an NFT Gallery Link, an NFT Profile Image and Background, and an NFT Lock.
The NFT Gallery Link will allow users to showcase NFTs right on their Linktree. Creators can add the URL of an Opensea collection to generate a preview and have the option of connecting their Metamask wallets to verify ownership of the collection. Alternatively, creators can connect their Metamask wallets and pick up to six owned NFTs to display them in the NFT Gallery.
The NFT Profile Image and Background offering allows creators to use their NFTs as their profile image or background on Linktree. Verified NFTs will be displayed in a hexagonal frame to make them stand apart, while backgrounds will have a verification badge. Visitors to the creator’s Linktree can then click to find out more about the NFT.
The NFT Lock, meanwhile, means NFT creators can lock their links using a smart contract address. Only visitors who own NFTs from a particular collection can unlock the link by connecting their wallets to prove ownership.
The company recently raised US$110 million and is subsequently focusing on introducing new revenue streams and creating expanded offerings for creators and brands. It said a growing base of its users have a strong affinity for Web3, so it’s excited to empower them to showcase, curate and grow these digital offerings.
