AC/DC and The Kid Laroi are among a contingent of Australian acts nominated for Grammy Awards this year, which take place on Monday.
The 2022 edition of the annual music event moves from its usual haunts in New York and Los Angeles, to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the first time in its over 60 year history.
The ceremony will feature performances by nominees such as Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Rodrigo and Lady Gaga.
Seven Network will stream the awards live from 10 a.m. AEST on Channel 7 and Seven Plus, with Foxtel’s E! News Channel broadcasting its Red Carpet coverage on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m AEST.
If you want to watch the Red Carpet live, however, music’s big night will begin with the People TV Red Carpet Show on Seven Plus from 8:30 a.m AEST.
The show will also broadcast a tribute to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died aged 50 last week while touring South America.
RÜFÜS DU SOL, Hiatus Kaiyote, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are also among the contingent from down under that are nominated for Grammys in 2022.
AC/DC have scored three nominations, with their single “Shot In The Dark” nominated for best rock performance and best music video. The album from which the song was lifted – 2020’s “Power Up” – has also earned the band a nomination in the best rock album category.
Sydney musician The Kid Laroi is vying for best new artist alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Glass Animals, Finneas, Saweetie and more.
Jon Batiste leads this year’s nominees with 11 nods, including for Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Close behind are Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R with eight nominations each.
