Amazon is asking “The Summer I Turned Pretty” viewers to respect the cast and crew’s privacy during the upcoming movie’s filming, as some fans have been visiting the sets and sharing the locations on social media after production began last month in North Carolina.

Unofficial photos of “TSITP” stars Lola Tung (who plays Belly Conklin) and Christopher Briney (Conrad Fisher) on the set of the upcoming film, which will serve as the series finale, have been circulating online in recent days, and fans are speculating about what plot points to expect in the movie from author and series creator Jenny Han.

“We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” Amazon Prime Video’s official ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty” X account wrote Tuesday. “We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”

The message, which is not the first time Amazon has asked “TSITP” fans to alter their behavior towards the YA romance’s cast, was accompanied by a short video depicting three people writing “PRIVACY PLEASE” in the sand on a beach.

Representatives for Amazon’s Prime Video did not immediately respond to request for further comment Tuesday.

In an interview with Variety following the Season 3 premiere last July, then-Amazon TV chief Vernon Sanders addressed the streamer’s request for “TSITP” fans to stop “bullying” and using “hate speech” when engaging with the show and cast: “We’ve had similar situations in the past with adaptations, where there is a fanbase out there that I think can get rowdy, and it sometimes can blur the line between characters and actors or overstep. And so we really appreciate them and appreciate their passion, but we’re trying to be more proactive about setting expectations of what we want to encourage and maybe what we find not appropriate. And I think our creators and our cast really appreciate us taking the proactive stance there.”

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” has proven to be a massive hit for Amazon since it first debuted in 2022. The story of Belly’s love triangle with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) drew 70 million viewers for its third and final season premiere within 70 days of the episode’s release last July.

On the launch day for the series finale last September, Amazon made the surprise announcement that Han would actually conclude “The Summer I Turned Pretty” with a movie, which would be shot at a later date. Since then, the “TSITP” cast and Han have teased the film but no confirmation had come from Amazon on when production would begin or it would release.
