Hulu has dropped the official trailer for its upcoming “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, set to premiere on April 10.

The four-episode limited series, officially titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” will feature the return of nearly all of the original show’s main cast members. The revival stars Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Jane Kaczmarek as his mother Lois, Bryan Cranston as his father Hal, Chris Masterson as his eldest brother Francis, Justin Berfield as his older brother Reese and Emy Coligado as Francis’ wife Piama.

As previously announced, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of Dewey, Malcolm’s younger brother who was played by Erik Per Sullivan in the original show. New cast members include Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend Tristan, and Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Hal and Lois’ youngest child who was revealed with Lois’ pregnancy in the series finale.

According to the logline for the new show, “After shielding himself and his daughter from his family for over a decade, Malcolm is dragged back into their orbit when Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party.”

The original creator, Linwood Boomer, returns as writer and executive producer of the new iteration of the series. Cranston, Tracy Katsky of KatCo, Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann are also executive producers.

Ken Kwapis directs all four episodes and executive produces. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye are co-executive producers. The series hails from Disney Branded Television and is produced by 20th Television.

The revival was officially announced in December 2024. “Malcolm in the Middle” originally aired on Fox for seven seasons and 151 episodes from 2000 to 2006, racking up 33 Emmy nominations over the course of its run, ultimately winning seven of the statuettes.
