Tyler, the Creator brought a medley of songs from his nominated albums “Chromakopia” and “Don’t Tap the Glass” to the Grammy stage for one of the most energetic performances of the night.
The rapper, dressed in the complete ensemble from his “Chromakopia” album cover, first led a marching line of soldiers onto the stage before performing “Thought I Was Dead.”
He was then joined on stage by Regina King, before driving a red car and running into a body double dressed as his “Chromakopia” persona — who was carried off on a stretcher. After Tyler stepped out of the car, he burst into dance while singing “Sugar on My Tongue.”
The performance concluded on a gas station set that ultimately exploded when the rapper entered with prop dynamite.

Tyler was one of the more decorated musicians at the Grammys this year, picking up six nominations for his albums “Chromakopia” and “Don’t Tap the Glass.” The former was honored in the categories for album of the year, best rap album and best album cover — the latter of which it won — while “Glass” was included in best alternative music album. His track “Darling, I” was nominated for best rap performance, and “Sticky” picked up a nod in best rap song. He previously won twice in the best rap album category, first in 2020 with “Igor” and again two years later with “Call Me If You Get Lost.”
The rapper, who was recently named as Variety‘s Hitmakers Innovator of the Decade, is coming off a blockbuster year that actually began back in Nov. 2024, when he released his chart-topping “Chromakopia.” Amid a world tour, he surprise-released “Don’t Tap the Glass” in July 2025, pushing his sound in a more dance-oriented direction.
He also branched outside of the music world with a role in Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme,” which opened on Christmas. In the film, he played a taxi driver named Wally who is friends with the title character (Timothée Chalamet) and is also a player in the New York table-tennis underground.
Tyler was one of many performers at the 2026 Grammy Awards, sharing the stage alongside artists including Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars and more.
