“Big Brother” Australia is returning in 2025.
All eyes will be on the “Big Brother” house on Sunday, November 9 when the original social experiment returns to Channel 10.
Hosted by Mel Tracina, a Nova announcer and cultural correspondent on “The Cheap Seats”, the format is going back to its roots with live nominations, live evictions, and 24/7 live streaming from Dreamworld.
Channel 10 said this year, “Big Brother” will be back “bigger and bolder than ever before”.
“It’s been a big few months for ‘Big Brother’, who has been busy building a whole new pad and searching the country high and low for the perfect tenants. The hunt has paid off, and this year’s housemates are ready to become your new obsession,” the network said.
Producers were actively recruiting for participants in this year’s series, asking for “real people with real stories”, “true-blue local legends”, “the unintentionally funny types”, “someone with a little sass”, “the wholesome ones everyone loves”, and “of course, the underdogs”.

“Big Brother” ran on Channel 10 from 2001 to 2008, before it made the move to Channel Nine for three seasons from 2012 to 2014. In 2020, the Seven Network revived “Big Brother” as part of then-CEO James Warburton’s revamp of the network’s content slate, and ran it for three seasons.
The series has kicked off various media careers, including Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, co-host of Nova Sydney’s breakfast show, who placed fourth in 2004. In 2003, Chrissie Swan placed second. She now hosts The Chrissie Swan Show on weekday afternoons across the national Nova Network.
