The “Scrubs” reboot at ABC is rounding out its cast with some new and familiar faces.
Variety has learned exclusively that the new iteration of the beloved sitcom has added nine recurring guest stars. Among those are Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Live,” “I Love That For You,” “Freakier Friday”) and Joel Kim Booster (“Fire Island,” “K-Pop: Demon Hunters,” “Loot”).
Bayer will play Sibby, who is described as someone who “runs a wellness program for faculty and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital.” Booster will play Dr. Eric Park, an attending at Sacred Heart.In addition, both Robert Maschio (“Cougar Town,” “Men at Work”) and Phill Lewis (“Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “The Suite Life on Deck”) will reprise their roles from the original series as Todd and Hooch respectively.
Joining the series as the new intern class will be: Ava Bunn (“A Man on the Inside,” “Five Star Weekend”) as Serena, Jacob Dudman (“The Choral,” “The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die”) as Asher, David Gridley (“The Last Ship,” “The Rookie”) as Blake, Layla Mohammadi (“The Persian Version,” “Lioness”) as Amara, and Amanda Morrow (“Mirrorland,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2”) as Dashana.
The new additions will appear alongside returning cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley.

The official logline for the reboot states, “JD (Braff) & Turk (Faison) scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”

Fellow “Scrubs” alums Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra will serve as executive producers and showrunners on the revival of the series, with Bill Lawrence executive producing via Doozer along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Braff, Faison, and Chalke are also executive producing in addition to starring with Randall Winston executive producing as well. 20th Television is the studio. Lawrence remains under his overall deal at Warner Bros. Television, with that studio carving out room for Lawrence to work with his former studio partners on “Scrubs.”
