Fresh from James Gunn‘s “Superman” flying into cinemas in July 2025, the second season of the DC Studios co-CEO and co-chairman’s “Peacemaker” arrives on HBO Max in August.
John Cena returns as vigilante superhero Chris Smith, alongside his season one co-stars Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Steve Agee, plus season two newcomers Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez and Tim Meadows. As well as writing all eight episodes, Gunn directed three.
“Final Destination Bloodlines,” the sixth film in the horror franchise that began in 2000, joins the platform mere months after its mid-May cinema release, while Australian viewers can also enjoy the tension of HBO Max’s full “Shark Week” slate. For laughs instead, the streamer is adding Marc Maron‘s “Panicked” comedy special, five different series and appearances featuring Steve Coogan character Alan Partridge, plus two seasons of Sophie Willan’s British sitcom “Alma’s Not Normal.”
