Untitled Group Revives The Wool Store

The Wool Store will be reborn as a party place for Untitled Group’s 10th anniversary.

The Melbourne-based independent live entertainment specialist teases a round of summer events — with The Wool Store at the heart of it all.

Built in the 1940s, The Wool Store is no ordinary venue. The heritage-listed warehouse in West Footscray played an important role in Australia’s post-war wool boom, when the nation’s economy was said to be carried on the sheep’s back.

In 2018, The Wool Store ushered in a different type of boom when Untitled Group transformed the space into a European-style warehouse rave. That last, large one saw Dom Dolla and Solomun play a four-hour back-to-back set.

Untitled Group teased its lineup on social media, soundbedded by tunes from Dutch electronic artist KI/KI.

As it enters a new decade, Untitled does so as one of the top 20 promoters, according to Billboard Boxscore’s mid-year report on the live music industry.

For the first time, Untitled dropped into the frame at No. 12, with US$51.5 million gross, on 542,000 attendance across 87 shows during the six-month reporting period.

The business’s success is driven by the performance of its flagship festivals including Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, Wildlands and Ability Fest, plus AO Live, the only music festival at a Grand Slam worldwide, alongside headline tours including Dom Dolla, Lola Young, Kaytranada, Marlon Hoffstadt, Sugababes, and Kesha and more.

Looking ahead, 2025 will mark a major milestone with the 10th anniversary edition of BTV, along a 12-date national tour with global electronic icons RÜFÜS DU SOL and Dom Dolla’s first stadium show.
