Jon Stewart Slams Donald Trump For Saying He Thought His Jesus Photo Was ‘Me as a Doctor’: ‘Do You Even Care About Lying to Us Anymore?’

On this week’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart went after President Donald Trump for trying to justify posting a since-deleted photo depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick on Truth Social by saying he thought it was “me as a doctor.”

Stewart pulled up the photo for his audience and immediately zeroed in on the sick man lying in the bed before Trump. The late-night pundit joked that he and the man share an eerie resemblance.

“I know I don’t have the vigor and spunk of my MTV days, but I didn’t know we were here already,” Stewart quipped. “I didn’t realize my look had reached leper territory. From the picture, it looks like it was touch-and-go with me for a while. But thank god, in my time of need, I was surrounded by family.”

Stewart then explained that “not everyone in the Christian community took too kindly” to Trump’s post. He said the backlash was so bad that Trump was “forced to come up with his own incredibly plausible cover story.”

The show then cut to a clip of a reporter asking Trump if he posted the photo of himself as Jesus. Trump responded, “It was me. I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor.”

“Do you even care about lying to us anymore? Is this over?” Stewart said. “Has this relationship gone stale? Your lies used to have a real spark. ‘They’re eating the cats and dogs! Venezuela stole the 2020 election!’ And now the best you’ve got is, ‘Eh, no, I wasn’t Jesus. I’m a doctor!’ You need to go back and find your happy place and fast.”
