Hamish Blake is trying his hand at everything from welding to wedding catering in the new Stan Original series “Unskilled Adult,” which will premiere November 1st.
Stan and UA Productions unveiled the trailer for the eight-part series on Friday, offering a first look at Blake and a rotating cast of Australian and New Zealand comedians and entertainers attempting jobs they have no experience doing.
Becky Lucas, Hugh van Cuylenburg, Anne Edmonds, Lloyd Langford, Sophie Monk, Dom Littrich, Ryan Shelton, Susie Youssef, Bret McKenzie, Lu Dal Din, Melanie Bracewell, Alexei Toliopoulos, Andy Lee, Jack Post, Guy Montgomery and Abby Howells will appear across the series.
Each episode sees Blake, playing the role of “CEO,” assemble a team of equally inexperienced “employees” to take on a new practical challenge. Among the jobs are welding a trailer, catering a wedding, drywalling a salami shed and sewing costumes for a community theatre production.
With little to no training, the group must rely on problem-solving and improvisation to get each job over the line. Once the work is complete, the client is tasked with deciding what the finished product is worth – and how much, if anything, they are willing to pay the team.
According to Stan, at its heart, “Unskilled Adult” is a “funny and optimistic celebration of having a go, being useless at something new and discovering that you’re never too old, or too unskilled, to learn.”

“Unskilled Adult” is created and produced by UA Productions. The first two episodes of “Unskilled Adult” will premiere November 1st on Stan, followed by new episodes weekly.
