The rights to Australian thriller series “Watching You” have been sold to Hulu and Disney+ to start streaming in the US and EMEA, including the UK.
“Watching You” stars Aisha Dee (“The Bold Type”, “Safe Home”, “Apple Cider Vinegar”) in a stand out performance as Lina. After a passionate one-night stand, her character discovers that hidden cameras have captured the affair. Amid mounting paranoia and threats, she sets out to unmask the voyeur.
It also stars Josh Helman (“Mad Max: Fury Road”, “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Luke Cook (“Good Cop/Bad Cop”, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”). The series, based on the best-selling novel “The Last Guests” by J.P. Pomare, is a taut and irresistible thriller that tackles relevant, resonant questions about privacy, relationships, technology and human nature.
Directed by Peter Salmon (“After the Party”, “INSiDE”) and Sian Davies (“Black Snow”, “The Twelve”), “Watching You” is a Stan Original series, and is produced in association with and internationally distributed by ITV Studios, of which Lingo Pictures is part.
It received major production investment from Stan and principal production funding from Screen Australia, and was financed with support from Screen NSW through the Made in NSW Fund. Post, digital and visual effects were also supported by Screen NSW.
ITV Studios brokered the multi-territory deal. The series will premiere on Hulu on Friday, February 20th.
