“Australian Ninja Warrior” is returning to Network 10 in 2027, with Robert Irwin, Georgie Tunny and Beau Ryan confirmed as hosts of the rebooted competition format.
The new season will feature a redesigned course designed to push competitors to their limits, as 10 looks to revive one of television’s most recognisable obstacle-course franchises.
Irwin said he had long been a fan of the series and was looking forward to stepping into the role.
“Stepping into a role like ‘Australian Ninja Warrior’ is such an incredible adventure. I have been a fan of this show for a long time. Not only are we watching the pinnacle of athleticism, but we also get to see how dedication, courage and hard work can create heroes on the course. We see passionate people discovering they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.
“Whether you’re out in the bush or on the course, it’s that same spirit of enthusiasm and commitment that inspires me every day, and I can’t wait to cheer every competitor across the finish line.
“My co-hosts will have the full-time job of keeping me from attempting the course myself!”
Tunny said the series’ appeal extended beyond the physical challenge.
“What I love most about ‘Australian Ninja Warrior’ is that every competitor arrives with a story. It’s not just about conquering the course; it’s about determination, resilience, and the people who inspire us to keep showing up, no matter what the challenge. I’m thrilled to be part of sharing those moments with audiences across Australia.”
Ryan, who previously competed on the program, said he understood the demands of the course firsthand.
“I’ve always loved a bit of healthy competition, and having competed on Australian Ninja Warrior before, I know just how tough that course really is.
“Watching these athletes tackling it is inspiring and terrifying, and trust me, after seeing what they can do, I won’t be volunteering to have a crack myself! I’m pumped to be along for the ride and can’t wait for everyone at home to experience it with us.”
Produced by Endemol Shine Australia, part of Banijay Entertainment, “Australian Ninja Warrior” is based on the SASUKE format created by Tokyo Broadcasting System Television Inc and distributed by Banijay Rights.
