Arj Barker Announces Massive 2027 Australian Comedy Tour

Arj Barker Announces Massive 2027 Australian
Charlie Kinross

Arj Barker is hitting the road for his 11th national Australian tour in 2027, fresh off officially becoming an Australian citizen.

The US-born comedian, who has spent more than 25 years performing across the country, will bring his new stand-up show, “The Eleventh Hour,” to theatres and comedy festivals nationwide from February through May.

The tour will kick off at Wollongong’s Illawarra Performing Arts Centre on February 5th before travelling to Newcastle, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria, with further stops across the country. Barker will also perform seasons at several major comedy festivals, including Adelaide Fringe from March 1st-14th, Melbourne International Comedy Festival from March 24th-April 18th, Sydney Comedy Festival on May 8th and Brisbane Comedy Festival from May 11th-16th. See full dates below.

“The Eleventh Hour” will feature an entirely new hour of material, with Barker turning his attention to everything from dishonesty on dating apps and the fear of missing out to the usefulness of fire blankets.

“This show is so much fun, I’m actually a little jealous of the audience who get to watch it. I’d go see it on my night off, but well…” Barker said.

The comedian will also use the tour to support two Australian charities, with a percentage of every ticket sold going towards mental health organisation Beyond Blue and Wildlife Recovery Australia.

Barker has become a familiar face on Australian television over the past two decades, appearing on programs including “Thank God You’re Here,” “Spicks and Specks” and “Have You Been Paying Attention?.”

Internationally, he is also known for playing Dave in HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords,” alongside Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie. Earlier this year, the duo invited Barker to the US to open for their new Netflix special.

His career has also included appearances at Just for Laughs, an Edinburgh Fringe Perrier Best Newcomer Award and stand-up performances across North America, Europe, Asia and South Africa.
