Podcasting is on the rise across the world, drawing hundreds of millions of listeners across the genre and its myriad of storytelling topics, getting recognition at this year’s Golden Globes, and now breaking new ground into festival territory. Australia’s first-ever podcast fan festival, DomeFest, will bring the hosts of four of the most popular podcasts in the country together on Sunday, March 29.
Led by host and queer content creator Milo Hartill, the lineup stars Abbie Chatfield, named by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s most influential podcasters and host of “It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield,” which reaches over 400k listeners a month. She’s joined by Jemma Sbeg of “The Psychology of Your 20s with Jemma Sbeg,” a Spotify Top 20 podcast and the only Australian podcast to stream on Netflix via the streamer’s partnership with iHeart Radio.
There’s also “Big Small Talk” with Hannah Ferguson and Sarah Jane-Adams, the Cheek Media-owned pop culture talk show that reaches over three million listeners monthly — rounding out the lineup is “Momentum” by Missing Perspectives with Kat Sasso, Australia’s top women’s sport that reaches over three million women monthly.
The event comes with high demand, ACRA reported in 2025 that 52% of Australians are podcast listeners, and 83% of Australians say live events make them feel more connected. Sophie Greiner, Co-Founder of DomeFest’s startup organiser Dome, explains that DomeFest is meant to meet that intersection, saying, “podcasts are traditionally a solo experience. The Dome ecosystem is about challenging that; bringing together like-minded communities who exist behind one degree of digital separation.”
“Fortunately, our dream lineup not only saw, but believed in the Dome vision and immediately got on board. As Gen Z women, we designed DomeFest around the conversations young women are having, so if you want to take these conversations out of the group chat and beyond happy hour… DomeFest is for you.”
DomeFest will take place on Sunday, March 29, at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Ticket presales are on now.
