The trailer and release date for new horror film “Leviticus” has been revealed.
Produced by Australian company Causeway Films (“The Babadook”, “Talk to Me”), “Leviticus” is set for release in local cinemas on June 18th. Check out the trailer below.
“Leviticus”, which is led by Adelaide-based actor Joe Bird, tells the story of two teenage boys, Naim and Ryan, who strike up an unexpected connection. But when their bond draws the attention of their community, a ritual is performed on them, releasing a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most – each other.
After premiering to critical acclaim at Sundance earlier this year, “Leviticus” was acquired by NEON, which has backed a string of high-profile films including “Parasite”, “I, Tonya” and “Longlegs”.
Maslow Entertainment is handling the distribution of the film in Australian and New Zealand. Following its local debut, it will then head to North American theatres on June 19th.
The news comes on weeks after it was revealed that Bird has been cast alongside Catherine Laga’aia in “Crashout,” a Gen Z satirical thriller from Australian production banner Deadhouse Films. Production commenced this month.
