Let’s get chocolate wasted: “Grown Ups 3” is officially in development at Netflix.

The Adam Sandler threequel has long been rumored, with cast members David Spade and Kevin James teasing that the project was in the works. But this announcement marks the first time Netflix has officially acknowledged the project’s status.

While it is rumored that at least the core five actors of the franchise — Sandler, Chris Rock, Spade, James and Rob Schneider — will return, the streamer did not confirm any casting news.

“Grown Ups 3” will be directed by Kyle Newacheck, who helmed the Sandler-Netflix projects “Murder Mystery” and “Happy Gilmore 2.” Sandler is co-writing the script with Tim Herlihy.

The original “Grown Ups” came out in 2010 and earned $271 million at the global box office, becoming Sandler’s highest-grossing movie outside of the animated “Hotel Transylvania” franchise. The 2013 sequel “Grown Ups 2” wasn’t far behind, with $247 million worldwide.

“Grown Ups” follows a group of lifelong friends who reunite with their families at a 4th of July outing. The cast also included Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, Joyce Van Patten, Colin Quinn, Steve Buscemi and Tim Meadows.

Sander produces “Grown Ups 3” alongside Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Herlihy. Kevin Grady and Judit Maull are executive producers.
