’24 Jump Street,’ Hugh Jackman’s ‘Treasure Island’ Remake Get 2027 Release Dates

Sony has slated the highly anticipated comedy sequel “24 Jump Street” and Ridley Scott’s “Treasure Island” remake starring Hugh Jackman for release in 2027. “Treasure Island” hits theatres first on Nov. 11, 2027, while “24 Jump Street” releases on Dec. 10, 2027.

Variety exclusively revealed in June that “24 Jump Street” was in the works, with stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube in talks to return for the franchise’s third instalment. Rodney Rothman (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”) will serve as director and co-wrote the script with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller — who helmed 2012’s “21 Jump Street” and 2014’s “22 Jump Street” — are returning as producers. Neal H. Moritz. Tatum and Reid Carolin are also producing for Free Association, along with Hill and Matt Dines under their Strong Baby banner.

Also in June, it was revealed that Jackman and Scott were teaming up to adapt Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic swashbuckling tale for the big screen. Scott will direct “Treasure Island” with a screenplay by Emmy-winning “Adolescence” writer Jack Thorne. Scott also serves as producer with Michael Pruss for his Scott Free banner. Thorne will executive produce “Treasure Island.”

Sony also dated Roshan Sethi’s thriller “The Surgeon” for April 2, 2027, and the coming-of-age comedy “Narcs” for Aug. 20, 2027. Michelle Yeoh stars in “The Surgeon” as a skilled doctor who is kidnapped and forced to operate on a mysterious patient. “Narcs” stars Mason Thames, and plot details remain under wraps. John Phillips, who wrote “No Hard Feelings” and “Dirty Grandpa,” makes his directorial debut with the project.

Two films also got their release dates shifted. “Grandgear,” from “Godzilla Minus One” director Takashi Yamazaki, was set to debut on Feb. 18, 2028, but will now drop on Jan. 14, 2028. “Helldivers,” based on the popular video game series, was set for release on Nov. 10, 2027. Sony pushed the title to June 9, 2028.
