#TeamConrad already won, but here’s one more reason to celebrate: Season 3 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has reached an impressive 70 million viewers, according to Amazon MGM Studios.
That total was counted 70 days after the season premiered and 7 days after the finale. It marks a 65% increase from the 70-day total achieved by Season 2 in 2023. And in addition to improving on last season’s stats, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 3 grew over the course of its release. Per Amazon, viewership peaked with the Sept. 17 debut of the finale.
Among women age 18-34, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is Amazon Prime Video‘s most-watched season of television ever. 60% of the show’s audience was outside of the U.S, with especially strong viewership in the U.K., Germany and Brazil. From the premiere on July 16 to the finale on Sept. 17, the series was Amazon’s most-watched title globally and became the No. 1 title in more than 140 individual countries’ rankings.
Amazon will have one more chance to enjoy the audience size provided by “The Summer I Turned Pretty”; the day the series finale was released, the company announced that the story would come to a close in a feature film.
Jenny Han, who wrote the books the series is based on and served as showrunner, said in a statement, “When I first wrote ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ 17 years ago, I could never have imagined it would resonate with so many people around the world and ignite such a passionate global conversation. To have the opportunity to take my books from page to screen, and to see fans embrace it with so much excitement, has been a dream come true. I’m so grateful to everyone who worked on this show including our exceptional cast and crew, and to Prime Video for supporting this series and my vision. This summer has been nothing short of magical, and I can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Cousins Beach for the movie!”
