To coincide with its 10th anniversary, Stan has rolled out its impressive 2025 lineup this week.
The local streaming platform has confirmed 14 new Originals – three drama series, six features, five documentaries – alongside 12 Originals still to premiere this year.
This includes the previously-announced new comedy crime drama series, “Sunny Nights,” featuring “Saturday Night Live” legend Will Forte which was shot in New South Wales last year. The show follows Forte as “strait-laced American Martin Marvin, who teams up with his loose cannon sister, Vicki, played by D’Arcy Carden (“Nobody Wants This,” “The Good Place,” “Barry”), to set up a spray tan business in Sydney.
“Home to one of the highest skin cancer rates in the world, Australia is also home to Martin’s estranged wife, whom he’s determined to win back. But as Martin and Vicki attempt to turn their company from a start-up operating out of the back of a van into a multi-million-dollar empire, the siblings become tangled up in Sydney’s criminal underworld, and when a ruthless gangster begins to catch up with them, the two must figure out how to stay alive, out of prison, and in the black.”
Tuesday’s announcement also includes “Beast in Me” – a new feature film starring Hollywood legend Russell Crowe, Luke Hemsworth, Daniel MacPherson and Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark in her debut acting role – which follows “Patton James (MacPherson), a devoted family man and former mixed martial artist, who had vowed to leave his fighting career behind. When his brother is severely injured and financial pressures loom, Patton is thrust back into the ring to train.”

Other highlights revealed by Stan include “Long Bright River” with Amanda Seyfried, the highly anticipated “Half Man” from Emmy-winning creator and actor Richard Gadd, and “The Rainmaker,” based on the John Grisham novel.
Five new Original Documentaries were also confirmed – “Craig Bellamy: Inside the Storm,” about the renowned NRL Melbourne Storm coach, “Joh: Last King of Queensland,” a documentary about one of Australia’s most controversial leaders and former Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen, and “Into the Night,” an investigation into one of Australia’s most baffling crimes.
Stan Sport will also be a big feature for 2025, which includes the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia and a major new partnership with MMA organisation, the PFL.
“Following ten years of championing exceptional storytelling for Australian audiences, Stan continues to commission premium Original productions and acquire the best in international entertainment,” Stan Chief Content Officer, Cailah Scobie, said.
