The Asian Academy Creative Awards has unveiled its 2025 National Winners, marking what organizers call the world’s largest showcase of Asia Pacific content with a record-breaking 331 contenders from 16 nations competing across 40 categories.

Jacob Elordi will represent Australia for his lead role in Prime Video’s “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” while two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett enters the competition for her Emmy-nominated performance in Apple TV+’s “Disclaimer,” marking the streamer’s debut at the awards.

The best actress in a leading role category has shaped up as a 13-way battle, with 2022 winner Jodi Sta. Maria from the Philippines returning to seek a rare second golden “Goddess.” Korea’s entry is Kim Minha for her performance in Apple TV’s “Pachinko” Season 2, while fellow “Pachinko” cast member Youn Yuh-jung will compete in the best actress in a supporting role category, also representing Korea. The Apple TV series scores additional recognition with director Arvin Chen representing Taiwan in the best direction (fiction) category.

The best drama series category features 13 contenders including “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” iQIYI’s “Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To The West” from China, Prime Video’s Indian mystery thriller “Suzhal – The Vortex” Season 2 and Korea’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines” from Netflix.

Singapore’s “Emerald Hill – The Little Nyonya Story” earned nods for best drama series, best actress (Jessica Liu) and best supporting actress for nine-year-old Ivory Chia.

Netflix dominated scripted categories across India and Thailand, with “Black Warrant” collecting six National Wins. Thailand’s Netflix series “Mad Unicorn” secured five nominations.

Australia’s “How To Make Gravy” garnered three National wins including best feature film, while India’s “Traitors” enters the ceremony with four National wins, looking to match the format’s recent Emmy success.
