Scottish comedian Danny Bhoy has announced he’ll be touring for Australian audiences yet again in 2026, for an 11-stop regional tour of stages in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT. It will be the comedian’s 13th tour of Australia, the 12th having just been earlier this year.
Bhoy’s debut to Australian comedy audiences was over two decades ago in 2003 at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, five years after he first took to the mic in 1998. Though Scottish by birth, Bhoy is a permanent resident in Australia — which makes for frequent touring availability — and has been ever since he performed to his Immigration panel in Canberra in 2010.
In 2026, he’ll be bringing his latest show, “Dear World…” from its prior Australian shows in the 2025 Sydney Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and its sell-out run at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival back to his home away from home. It’s also a sequel to his 2015 set “Dear Epson…” — described by Bhoy as a hybrid of standup and theatre.
Speaking to scenestr in March, Bhoy explained his desire to followup on the 2015 show, saying “On the tenth anniversary of ‘Dear Epson…’ it just seemed like a good time to revisit the format? It was interesting reading back letters from the original show and realising how much more normal things were back then. ‘Dear World…’ has the same playfulness, but with some darker subjects at a time when we seem to be spiralling out of reality.”
“The idea (though certainly not ground-breaking) came from trying to find a way of combining my love of theatre with stand-up,” Bhoy continued. “This is not a show that I could do in a club, and I like that. I think people are initially confused by what’s going on, and I like that too. I love performing this show, because I like all the little changes of pace, and also it’s full of quite interesting facts, alongside big laughs.”
