Hulk Hogan‘s ex-wife Linda Hogan is speaking out about the late wrestling star being snubbed from the Emmys‘ In Memoriam segment, saying she believes it was due to his support of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Linda Hogan — who was married to Hulk Hogan from 1983 to 2009 — made her suspicions known, citing Hulk’s speeches and appearances at Trump campaign events leading up to the 2024 election.
“I can’t prove that,” Linda Hogan told EW. “It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!”
Representatives for the Television Academy did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
In addition to his on-screen work as one of the biggest stars of the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), Hogan was also an actor. He appeared in films like “Rocky III” (1982) and “No Holds Barred” (1989), as well as TV projects including “Thunder in Paradise” (1994), his reality show “Hogan Knows Best” (2005-2007) and animated series “China, IL” (2011-2015). He died on July 24 at the age of 71 after suffering cardiac arrest.
“[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years!” Linda Hogan said of his time in the WWF.
“I really can’t tell you why they left him out,” Linda Hogan continued, adding that her politics theory is “just a guess considering the way he was treated at his last appearance in L.A.”
